Wedding Madness

Do you ever feel like you never have time to do anything? These past three weeks I have had no time to relax. Not only am I trying to help build a house I have weddings to go to. I had Ryan's Best friends wedding on July 25th and my cousins wedding on July 31st. Those weren't to bad. But in the meantime I am helping plan my aunts wedding which took place on August 8th. That was probably the most hectic of them all just because I was more involved with it. We had a shower on the 6th for her, then a dinner on the 7th and then the wedding on the 8th. We had to meet at Logan Golf Country Club where the dinner/reception was taking place to start decorating. I got my hair done at 8 am (luckily my hair dresser came to the country club to do my hair) then I started putting the centerpieces together which contained a hydrangea, three roses and a calla lily we had to put together 8 big ones and 8 little ones it was a lot of work. After finishing at the country club we made our way over to Bear Lake (where the ceremony took place). We were running a little behind but we made it over there in time to help set up the decorations. It came time to start the wedding but the Justice of the Peace hadn't shown up yet. After making a couple of calls we finally got a hold of him. We got started about an hour later than anticipating. When we got done with all the pictures and cleaning up we came back to the country club. At the country club we ate and danced. When I say danced I mean that I sat in my chair bugging Ryan to come and dance. He wouldn't go dance so I dance in my chair and made everyone laugh because I wouldn't go out to the dance floor. The food at the country club was really good we had vegetables, fruit, salad, chicken, pork and the most important dessert. It was really good. After the dinner we helped clean up. Finally the day was coming to an end we were tired from the long day we had. Here are some pictures of the weddings.

Angie and Dan on the beach.

These are the centerpieces that I help put together. We had an assembly line I put all the flowers together my sister taped and put some grass in them, my mom put the seashells in them and Callie watered them.

Kristen made the cakes. Boy is she talented. I don't even want to know what my cake would of looked like. This is the Grooms cake. If you can't tell it is Darth Vader.

This is the masterpiece. The sandcastle. The top and bottom layers were real cake and the other was styrofoam. I have to say that it looks pretty cool. The seashells that are on the table are made of white chocolate and of coarse the sand is graham crackers.

This is Breanne and me after the ceremony. I had some trouble with my dress earlier but luckily my great aunt Jolene could sew because she stitched me into my dress so nothing would show.

These are her bridesmaids that she had Michelle, Me, Angie, Callie and Breanne. She also had two flower girls Mikelle and Nicole. Dont we look beautiful.

Nephews

These are my nephews Memphis is 2 years old and Taylor is 7 months and Hunter is 3 months.Memphis with his brother Hunter. I went over to Nikki's house one day to drop off some Tastefully Simple stuff and Memphis was playing in the swimming pool with Evey. It looked like they were having fun soaking up this warm weather. Hunter was chillin in his bouncer chair.

These last ones are of Taylor. He is such a happy boy. He has started to crawl and is going everywhere. When I talked to Whitney the other day she said he has six teeth now. The top four came in at the same time.
I would like to thank Whitney for posting some cute pictures of Taylor, Memphis and Hunter on her blog. These are some of the pictures I took off her blog.

Update

Our house is coming along really well. This week has been busy we have been painting, putting down hardwood and getting cabinets. The outside of our house is pretty much done the only thing we are waiting for is rain gutters and of course our driveway (that will come later). We had our garage doors installed on Wednesday. Ryan has been working on the hardwood while I have been painting. The kitchen, master bathroom and the main bathroom are painted so we could have the cabinets installed, now I am concentrating on the bedrooms and family room. The cabinets were installed today (they are freakin awesome). They look good with the flooring in the kitchen and the baths. I can't wait until we get our counter tops we are scheduled to get them on the 23 of July.

Update on the House

Our house has been insulated and is getting sheet rocked. The sheet rocker is supposed to be done tomorrow but it is looking like it will be Friday. Once the sheet rocker is done we can start on our finish work. We have being trying to decide what type of chair rail and what kind of trim we should do and I think we finally found what we like.

This is the great room/dining room.

This is the master bedroom.

The house is getting a face lift. It has taken us a long time to pick out stucco colors and brick. Who would of thought there was so many colors to choose from and all the different types of brick. Finally after driving around the valley a couple of times we found one we like. The stucco people we suppose to be there on Monday but they are behind I guess because they send the bricklayers over first. So our house is starting to look like a finished house with some brick on it.

This is the front of the house.

This is a close up of our brick.

We have been debating on what to do around the fireplace. Do we do rock or tile. Well we finally found something we like. When we were at Home Depot they had slate tile on sale so we thought we would do that but it turns out that the slate was all the same color with only a few that were different colors we didn't think that would look very good. What we found was black and white marble tile that looks really cool.

Softball

Softball started on May 12. Last year I played on three teams, 2 co-ed and one womens team. This year I am only playing on one team. That is Lundahl Building Systems. I was looking forward to playing on two teams, but our co-ed team didn't put a team together this year. I am OK with this because we are trying to build a house and I don't think that I would have enough time to play on two teams and build a house.

Opening the Cabin

This is our cabin
We made a trip over to Bear Lake to open the cabin for the summer. There is not a lot of space in our cabin so we take over our trailer and park it in the back yard. The water came up a bit this past year and with our cabin right on the lake we look forward to it coming up much further.
The water use to be really close to the cabin. When I was little me parents have pictures of me and my sister sitting on sandbags. To put this in prospective of how close it was it came to above the weeds.

We are also putting my parents cabinets from their old kitchen up there and getting rid of the others. Along with some of the other renovations we are doing we got a new fridge. The old fridge was pretty cool in was an International Harvester and was made between the years of 1947 and 1955. Ryan gave it to Dazee for her retro basement. This is the old fridge it was origanily white but my great grandma Wilma painted it green to match the sink.

The Progess on our House

We have been working hard on our house and it is coming along quite well. Ryan finished the plumbing and electrical. The HVAC guys came and put the furnace in on May 5th and our fireplace was installed on May 8th.
This is our fireplace.

We have three bird nests in our window and hope that we could get the windows in before the bird laid her eggs.... well come to find out the bird had laid her eggs a day or two later. Ryan found this out by getting to close to the nest and the mama bird started squawking. we later found out that the mama bird abandoned the eggs. This is a picture of the eggs before we put them outside to see if the mama bird would come back.
We installed our windows and doors on May 17th and had our 4 way inspection on May 22nd their was a couple things we had to get done before we can have the insulation people come.

This is our front door. We are going to stain it walnut to match out cabinets.

This is the front of our house with the windows and door installed.

Ryan worked his little tush off so the insulators will be there on Tuesday. The insulators should be done in one day and the sheetrockers will be there on Wednesday. Ryan told me we need to start looking at colors and flooring because it is about three weeks away from when we need it.
